Description

Hawke Vantage SF 3-12×44 Product description

  • Side Focus Parallax from 9 Metres: The side-mounted parallax knob provides parallax correction from 9 metres to infinity, enabling precise adjustment across a wide range of shooting distances without changing grip or breaking the firing position. At the higher magnification levels of this scope’s range, side focus parallax correction is a practical advantage over fixed-parallax designs for maintaining accuracy across varying target distances.
  • Half Mil Dot Reticle for Holdover and Ranging: The Half Mil Dot reticle features mil dots at half-MRAD spacing — twice the density of a standard Mil Dot — providing finer holdover reference points and more precise ranging at distance. As a second focal plane design, the subtensions are calibrated at a specific reference magnification.
  • Wide Field of View for a 3–12× Scope: The H2 optical system delivers a field of view of 10.2 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification — broader than many comparable 3–12× scopes — providing good situational awareness during target identification at lower power before increasing magnification for the shot.
  • Compact and Lightweight for a Side Focus Model: At 337 mm in length and 491 g, the scope is well proportioned for a side-focus equipped 3–12× on a 1-inch chassis, keeping total system weight practical for all-day carry on a hunting or target rifle.
  • Capped Low-Profile Turrets with 100 MOA Adjustment: The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets provide 100 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments, protecting the zero from accidental movement during carry while providing a generous adjustment range suited to a variety of platforms, mounting heights, and calibres.

About the Vantage Series

The Hawke Vantage series is the broadest riflescope lineup in Hawke’s product range, built on the H2 optical system and covering a wide variety of tube diameters, magnification ranges, and reticle configurations at an accessible price point. The range is designed for hunters, target shooters, and recreational shooters who require a reliable, versatile optic without the cost associated with higher-tier optical systems.

All Vantage models feature 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses delivering consistent light transmission across the magnification range. The lineup spans standard 1-inch, 30mm, and 34mm mono-tube chassis, covering first and second focal plane optics, adjustable objective, side focus, and fixed parallax variants, illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, and a broad selection of reticle designs. The Vantage SF 3-12×44 is one of the few non-illuminated side-focus configurations within the Vantage lineup, combining the practical benefits of side-mounted parallax adjustment with a Half Mil Dot reticle on a compact 1-inch platform.

About the Model (Hawke Vantage SF 3-12×44 Half Mil Dot)

The Hawke Vantage SF 3-12×44 Half Mil Dot is a non-illuminated riflescope combining side-focus parallax adjustment with a half-spacing Mil Dot reticle in a compact 1-inch package — suited to hunters and field shooters who require the convenience of side-mounted parallax correction and a structured holdover reticle without illumination. The 3–12× magnification range provides a 4× zoom ratio with a field of view of 10.2 metres at 100 metres at minimum power — broad enough for target identification and tracking at close to medium distances — and a 12× upper end for precise shot placement at extended hunting and field distances.

The 44mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers consistent light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 14.7 mm at 3× supports image brightness at low magnification in low-light conditions. The 90mm of eye relief is compatible with a wide range of centrefire and rimfire platforms.

The Half Mil Dot reticle provides mil dots at half-MRAD spacing, offering finer holdover reference points than a standard Mil Dot for more precise holdover estimation and ranging at distance. The side-mounted parallax knob corrects parallax from 9 metres to infinity, accessible from the firing position without repositioning. The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets provide 100 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres. Overall length is 337 mm and weight is 491 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Vantage series is built on the H2 system, representing the entry level of Hawke’s riflescope range and providing an extensive selection of configurations at an accessible price point.
