Lee round ball molds have a tangential cut-off which eliminates the objectionable nib at the sprue. The cavities are made with a new process called hobbing. The blocks are rough machined to size with about .005 to .010 inch stock remaining. A tungsten carbide ball is then placed in the cavity and the blocks are squeezed in a 30-ton press to perfectly form the round cavity. The resulting cavity is far smoother and round than could be cut with a conventional cutter. Molds include handle. Double cavity: .311 ball.
