This annotated second edition features some rifles shown in the original black and white photos, while many examples are now shown in full color photography. This hard cover book is the larger 9 x 12″ format, with 416 pages of large photographs and details about these scarce early American guns and their makers.Edward Marshall’s rifle is a well known early American longrifle. Several pages of photographs depict this nice specimen, possibly made by Andreas Albrecht, at his Christian’s Spring, Pennsylvania gun shop. Additional pages of views show details of Edward Marshall’s rifle, including the muzzle, butt end of the buttplate, end of the sliding wooden patchbox, barrel markings, tang carving, sideplate, and triggerguard finials.The odd shapes of the triggers are clearly shown.
