Description
We carry, and keep a quantity on hand of a lot of different Randall knives. While we have special ordered the Yukon Skinner for customers, until October 2016, we had not tried to keep an inventory of that model. In a mailing to Knife Collectors Club™ members at the end of October, we offered this knife in two different handle materialsleather and black Micarta. Toward the end of last year, Randall announced that Thuya Wood would be available as a standard handle material. It seemed a natural choice for the Yukon Skinner.
The Yukon Skinner is an adaptation of Randall’s Model 4 specially designed for big game purposes by Ward Gay, a famous Alaskan bush pilot. It has a 4-1⁄2″ upswept skinner style blade of O-1 tool steel (non-stainless) at 56-57 Rc. with notches on the top of the blade near the hilt for thumb placement. The handles are beautifully figured Thuya Wood with black, red and white spacers at the top with a brass hilt, and a green paracord lanyard. Measures 9-1⁄2″ overall. Weighs 6.6 oz. Ships with a brown leather Model A sheath with a sharpening stone in the pouch and a matching green paracord loop. Handmade in Randall’s shop in Orlando, Florida.
(8-2024) Due to Randall’s high volume of orders, if not on our shelves when you order, delivery of Randall knives ordered from A. G. Russell is currently taking 10-12 months. If ordered directly from Randall the wait is currently about 6 years.
