Matched Receiver & Bolt Body – Super Grade H&H Magnum Action – 1958

Description

This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1958 H&H Magnum rifle. The bottom of the recoil lug is stamped with the backwards “S”, indicating this receiver was intended for a Super Grade rifle. Winchester advertised these actions as having been “hand smoothed for easy operation” – see the photo of the page from Roger Rules excellent book. Both the bolt and receiver are marked with the serial number 436981 and have their original finish.

Receiver – Overall, this receiver is in good condition. The receiver bluing is original with notable finish wear, especially on the recoil lug. There is no significant metal damage. There are no extra holes or modifications to the receiver.

Bolt – The bolt is in good condition with substantial bluing loss but no metal damage.
