Description
This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1948 standard rifle. Both pieces are marked with the serial number 78593. This is a “transition era” receiver with the cloverleaf tang found on the pre-war model combined with the smooth, and drilled, rear bridge of the later models.
Receiver – The original finish has wear on the front ring, on the left side of the rear bridge from a receiver sight, on the rails, recoil lug, and in the tang area. There is some surface rust/discoloration on the front ring and recoil lug.
Bolt – The bolt has bluing wear on the handle but no other notable metal damage.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
