Description
This is a matching receiver and bolt body pair from a 1947 standard rifle. Both pieces are marked with the serial number 71431. This is a “transition era” receiver with the cloverleaf tang found on the pre-war model combined with the smooth, and drilled, rear bridge of the later models. On this receiver, the rear bridge has been drilled with an extra hole for a scope base.
Receiver – The original finish has wear on the rails and in the tang area. There are a few scratches on the rails but no dings or other notable metal damage.
Bolt – The bolt has bluing wear on the handle but no notable metal damage.
We use the NRA Modern Gun Condition Standards Grading System for grading part conditions. You can read about it HERE
