The Picatinny framework marks a notable enhancement over the traditional Weaver standard. Additionally, the slots on a Weaver rail are slimmer, measuring 3.8 mm, which permits scope mounts made for Weaver rails to be used on a Picatinny rail. About the Sauer 

J.P. Sauer & Sohn, established in 1751 in Suhl, Germany, is the oldest firearms manufacturer in Germany. Originally focused on military contracts, the company adapted to civilian markets in the late 19th century, introducing innovative hunting rifles. Post-WWI, it diversified, even producing typewriters, to survive economic hardships. About the Sauer 202 Magnum

The Sauer 202 Magnum rifle is a bolt-action model with a steel receiver designed for a fast bolt throw and smooth operation, thanks to its short bolt lift angle of 60°. It features a noiseless safety catch at the rear of the action, a single-set trigger, and a magazine capacity of three to four rounds, depending on the configuration. The rifle allows for easy barrel changes with its take-down option. It is equipped with four mounting holes for scopes—two at the front and two at the rear of the receiver. The possible barrel lengths for the 202 Magnum are 600 mm (22.6 inches) and 650 mm (25.6 inches)​​.

Design of the Rail

The rail has four mounting holes with 6-48 threading, allowing for secure attachment of various optics. It is fastened with four screws, ensuring stability and accuracy under recoil.

Mounting Instructions

Clean the rifle’s receiver thoroughly with a cleaning fluid, such as acetone, to remove all stains, grease, and oil. Once the surface is clean and dry, verify that the screws fit both the rail and the receiver holes. Before mounting the rail, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid (278 or 648) to the screws, avoiding any contact with the mounting holes. Carefully clean any excess fluid around the rail using the cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque (up to 3 Nm/26.5 in-lbs).
