Description

Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 AO Product description

  • AMX Reticle Designed for Airgun Trajectories: The AMX reticle is Hawke’s proprietary airgun-specific design, with holdover marks positioned to account for the arc of an airgun pellet rather than the flatter trajectories of centrefire cartridges. As a second focal plane reticle, the aim points are calibrated at a specific reference magnification, allowing the shooter to apply holdovers without turret adjustment at known distances.
  • Adjustable Objective Parallax from 7 Metres: The adjustable objective (AO) ring corrects parallax from just 7 metres to infinity — one of the closest parallax settings available in the Airmax lineup — making this scope particularly practical for close-range airgun target shooting and pest control where targets frequently appear at short distances where parallax error is most pronounced.
  • Exceptionally Wide Field of View for a 2–7× Scope: The wide-angle optical design delivers a field of view of 17.5 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification — notably broader than most standard 1-inch airgun scopes in this magnification class — supporting fast target acquisition and situational awareness at close to medium airgun distances.
  • Compact and Lightweight 1-Inch Build: At 269 mm in length and 472 g, this is one of the most compact and lightweight models in the Airmax range. The standard 1-inch tube ensures broad compatibility with the widest range of air rifle mounts, including those designed for 11mm dovetail and Weaver/Picatinny rails found on most airgun platforms.
  • 16-Layer Fully Multi-Coated Lenses: Despite the compact dimensions and entry-level price positioning, the scope uses 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses — the same coating specification as the higher-specified Airmax 30 SF models — providing high light transmission and a clear, bright image across the 2–7× range.

About the Airmax Series

The Hawke Airmax series is Hawke’s dedicated airgun scope range, developed specifically for the optical and mechanical requirements of air rifle shooting. All Airmax models feature the proprietary AMX reticle — calibrated for airgun pellet trajectories — and 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, with close-range parallax adjustment as a consistent feature across the lineup.

The series spans a broad range of configurations: from compact, lightweight 1-inch tube models with adjustable objective parallax for general airgun use, through to the higher-specified 30mm wide-angle side focus models designed for field target and HFT competition. All configurations are built on Hawke’s H2 optical system and share the same airgun-specific design philosophy — close-range parallax correction, a wide field of view, and a reticle matched to airgun ballistics rather than centrefire cartridges.

The standard Airmax WA sub-series uses a 1-inch mono-tube chassis with an adjustable objective parallax ring, capped low-profile resettable turrets, and non-illuminated AMX reticles. This provides the core Airmax optical and reticle specification in the most compact, lightweight, and cost-accessible package in the lineup — suited to hunters and recreational airgun shooters who want a purpose-designed airgun optic without the additional features of the 30mm competition-oriented models.

About the Model (Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 AO AMX)

The Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 AO AMX is the most compact and entry-level configuration in the Airmax lineup, designed for recreational airgun shooting, pest control, and small game hunting where a lightweight, purpose-built airgun optic with close-range parallax correction is the primary requirement. The 2–7× magnification range provides a 3.5× zoom ratio with an exceptionally wide field of view of 17.5 metres at 100 metres at minimum power, supporting fast target acquisition across a broad arc — particularly useful for pest control situations where targets may appear quickly at varying positions. The 7× upper end provides adequate image detail for precise shot placement at the typical distances of airgun hunting and target shooting.

The 32mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers high light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 16 mm at 2× supports a bright, accessible sight picture at low power. The 90mm of eye relief is compatible with a range of air rifle platforms.

The AMX reticle provides airgun-calibrated holdover marks as a second focal plane design, sized and positioned for the trajectory of a typical airgun pellet at the calibrated reference magnification. The AO parallax ring corrects parallax from 7 metres to infinity, covering the close to medium distances typical of airgun use. The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets provide 120 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments — a generous range for a scope of this size, accommodating a wide variety of mounting heights and air rifle configurations. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres. Overall length is 269 mm and weight is 472 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Airmax series is built on the H2 system and represents Hawke’s dedicated airgun scope range, covering applications from recreational shooting and pest control through to field target and HFT competition.
