This 7.62x39mm cartridge by Tula is just the ticket for your ammo hungry AK-47. It sports a 124 grain projectile, which is pretty par for the course for its caliber. The bullet’s full metal jacket will facilitate feeding in semi-automatic rifles and also save your bore from the rapid accumulation of lead residue that would harm your accuracy with time.
The reason these rounds cost only about a quarter a pop is primarily due to their Berdan primed brass casings. They are not reloadable, but at the trade-off of being much more cost-effective to manufacture. If you don’t intend to reload, then there is little disadvantage to investing in this ammunition. Rugged Russian rifles handle it great!
This round was manufactured at Tula Cartridge Works 100 miles south of Moscow. The old facility has been in operation since 1880, and now largely specializes in the production of steel cased ammo.
