When you want something down and dirty to get in the mix with you and your shooting buddies, there are few .223 Remington rounds that will do it as well as this round, with the rugged steel construction and the relatively versatile 62 grain projectile. These Russian-manufactured Tula rounds are made to function well across the board, but specifically are inexpensive because they are manufactured in a way that keeps the costs low and the reliability high. These also offer a pretty versatile solution for midrange barrel twists, as the 62 grain projectile can be supported well in a wide variety of twist patterns.

They are a bit dirtier to shoot with a powder that’s more suitable for open air, outdoor practice than indoor ranges. The non-reloadable cartridge means you can realize some of the savings as a result of materials used in manufacturing. But it’s a value add for those who prefer not to reload and have no intention of collecting brass (these are steel; not brass anyways).

Berdan primers offer excellent ignition reliability and the non-corrosive build keeps you safe between cleanings, generally. Note: it is a best practice from a safety and longevity perspective to clean your firearm every single time it is shot. These are packaged a bit differently with 40 rounds per box, offering a fantastic value for dollars spent.
