This shell is loaded with ¾ ounces of 7.5 copper plated lead shot. Its copper plating hardens the uniformly round shot considerably, helping it to resist deformation in the barrel for tight, consistent patterns, and also to reliably penetrate the coarse plumage of wild birds and the scrubby brush they like to take cover behind. The size of this shot makes it perfect for hunting smaller birds like dove, quail, and woodcock, as it will reliably drop them without turning their trophies into little more than scraps of fluff.
