This 7.62x39mm cartridge from Winchester’s PDX1 Defender line of ammunition sports a 120 grain hollow point projectile. The bullet features split core technology: Its front core is engineered to provide quick impact shock, while its rear core is welded to its tapered copper alloy jacket to assure maximum weight retention and deep penetration. The bullet also features a protected hollow point, which promotes reliable feeding in semi-automatic weapons like the AK-47, and initiates quick expansion at the moment of impact as well. The effect of these combined features is a bullet that expands to 1.5 times its original diameter, whether it hits a target at its initial muzzle velocity of 2,365 fps or even somewhat slower, making it a perfect solution for personal defense.
