This is a Hornady Outfitter 6.5mm Creedmoor cartridge. It’s designed to be up for whatever kind of hunt you’d take it on, even if that involves slogging through mud and rain to get to your game. The round’s brass casing is nickel plated, so it’s inherently resistant to corrosion, and its mouth and primer are sealed to keep water infiltration from robbing of you of your shot.
This rugged round is complemented nicely by Hornady’s 120 grain GMX projectile. The GMX is made entirely of copper alloy, so it will preserve your rifle’s accuracy and not run you afoul of California’s strict ammunition laws. Because this bullet isn’t affected by the issue of core/jacket separation, it is able to retain no less than 95 percent of its weight as it rockets through a rugged buck’s body. This bullet’s sleek profile, pressure relieving grooves, and polymer tip serve together to stabilize it in flight — its tip further initiates expansion up to 1.5 times the GMX’s original diameter during penetration.
