This 243 Win cartridge from Hornady’s Full Boar line of ammunition sports an 80 grain GMX projectile. The GMX features one-piece copper alloy construction that won’t separate, so it delivers deep penetration, 95 percent weight retention, and devastating terminal performance as it expands up to 1.5 times its original diameter after impact. The bullet’s copper composition also makes it legal to fire in places where lead ammunition is banned, including California.
This bullet also offers a polymer tip which improves its aerodynamics, and which gets forced into the bullet’s hollow cavity upon impact to facilitate expansion. The long, sleek bullet’s performance is further improved by its crimping cannelure and pressure relieving grooves, which work in conjunction to reduce both bearing surface and fouling.
