An M82A1 weighs over 30 pounds. That means it’s more than just a rifle. It is also a hernia waiting to happen!
To the average shooter, at least. Carrying an M82A1 feels like nothing to a steadfast hunk of a man who is built like a marble column (such as yourself). But even the most substantially built marksman can’t do his best shooting without outstanding ammo (such as Hornady Match)!
This cartridge was previously loaded with Hornady’s A-MAX bullet. It was switched over to the A-Tip Match, which ends in an aluminum tip instead of a polymer one. It is precision machined, and longer than a polymer tip, and more effective at boosting in-flight stability because of it. Such a tip is a perfect complement to Hornady’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket and Drag Variability Reduction Technology flat meplat, as well as the A-Tip Match’s perfectly optimized boat tail, ogive, and bearing surface.
The 750 grain A-Tip Match is so good at its job that its G1 ballistic coefficient includes a whole number: 1.050! For context, a .338 cal 300 grain A-Tip Match’s G1 BC is “only” 0.863.
