Marttiini Carbon Steel Full Tang Knife – 11 cm (4.33″)

Description

The Marttiini Full Tang knife is made from 440 high carbon steel with a 13% chromium to provide a strong, durable blade that is resistant to rusting. 

The full tang design is 25cm long with a contured handle that incorporates a finger guard.  The blade itself is 11cm long consisting of a single edged design with a stainless steel finish.  Due to its sharpness and durability the Full Tang is suitable for hunting and other outdoor activities

Attached to the handle is two pieces of black pakkawood (laminated plywood) to create a comfortable grip for the user.  Pakkawood is an extremely durable and hygienic material that when combined with the Full Tang’s stainless steel construction results an easy to maintain knife.

Finally the Full Tang comes with a black leather sheath that incorporates both leather strap but a snap closure to ensure safe stowage when carried.

Carbon steel

A blade made of carbon steel (chromium 3%, carbon 0,75%, HRC 55-57) is particularly adapted for whittling and is easy to sharpen back to its original sharpness yourself. In maintaining a carbon steel blade, it’s important to dry it carefully after each use. It’s also good to treat it regularly with unsalted oil, like cooking oil for example. A carefully maintained carbon steel blade will remain rust free and has a very long life.
