Carrying an axe gives you a few advantages over carrying just a knife. It allows you to more easily gather and split firewood, to speed up the processing of large game and to build bigger shelters. The SOG Camp Axe is designed for hammering and chopping. It makes a great tool to throw in your outdoor/camping kit or carry in your pickup or SUV. The 5″ axe head is solid 2Cr13 stainless at 51-52 Rc. (an excellent steel and hardness for an axe) with a 2-3⁄4″ cutting edge and a flat area on the back for hammering. The handle is black reinforced nylon, textured for better grip. Measures 11-1⁄2″ overall. Weighs 1 lb. 0.3 oz. Ships with a molded black plastic sheath. Made in China. 95.
