An Eric Ochs Design
When he’s not creating, designer Eric Ochs likes to take in the views of his Oregon backyard from over 8,000 feet. He has climbed a handful of PNW volcanic peaks and developed his power of perseverance from these missions, which he applies to his hardworking designs. The Avant is proof.
The Avant utilizes a flipper and the IKBS™ pivot system, with lubed ball bearings, to deploy the blade at lightning speed. It is also built with a thumb disk for a more deliberate, manual opening option. Once the blade is deployed, the locking liner adds a solid layer of safety without impeding one-handed closing. The woven carbon fiber handle scales are compact and solid in the hand. To add a little zing, Ochs gave it a bronze pocket clip, positioned for tip-up carry, and pivot detail.
The 3-1⁄8″ drop point blade is 8Cr14MoV stainless at 58-60 Rc. Measures 4-1⁄4″ closed. Weighs 5.4 oz. Made in China. 99.
